Trapper 1995 Thoroughbred Gelding
Trapper has been apart of our lesson program for over 20 years now, he is a safe steady lesson horse that is great for beginners, has lots of experience jumping, showing, and teaching students the ropes. He is now taking it easy in his old age and taking care of the young riders.

Cody 1999 Paint Gelding
Cody is the energizer bunny, don't let his age fool you, he loves to go, jumping is is favorite he will jump anything you put in front of him. Doesn't ever get too fast but you have to like forward horses to appreciate Cody's work ethic, sitting still isn't his cup of tea.

Riley 1999 Thoroughbred Paint Gelding
Riley joined our program back in 2018, he has some nice dressage training, and loves to jump, smooth to ride, but is a forward horse with a nice scope to his jump so usually is ridden by more intermediate riders. Bold to jump and great at shows for kids learning the ropes.
|
Justice 2003 Thoroughbred Gelding
Justice is an OTTB who had a successful career on the track earning 98K in his racing career. He is a nice bold jumper and is a favorite to take to shows, very honest, steady and great for beginners on the flat or teaching kids to jump.
|
SpotMe 2000 Pintaloosa Gelding
Spot Me is a character to say the least he is very easy to pick out in the field with his interesting face markings. Very athletic horse, but does have a couple quirks and is a little too smart for his own good. He has settled down as he has gotten older, and is great for kids to learn to jump on now and a perfect horse for students to take to shows.
|
Phyrefly 2002 Trakehner Mare
Phyrefly is a very easy going, safe horse for beginners to learn to ride on. She teaches kids how to jump over small jumps. She has taken many children to their first ever show. She is easy to get going for even the smallest riders and is smooth to ride.
|
Roper 2001 Quarter Horse Gelding
Roper was a feedlot horse before we bought him and loves to work cows and do cattle penning. Great for polocrosse as he neck reins very easily. Good on the trails, in the arena and is fun to jump. He is a great all around horse but does have some get up and go.
|
Charlie 2000 Paint Gelding
Charlie was given to us a few years back; he used to mostly just do trail rides, but has decided jumping is kind of fun. He is great to learn to canter on but can be a little hard to get going at times. You will recognize him in a lesson as he loves to nicker and whinny to all the horses in the lesson. Everyone is a friend in Charlie's world.
|
Annie 2008 Paint-Arab cross Mare
Annie is a very smart little mare and is still learning lots with her current leaser Jordan. She does occasional lessons, is a very steady ride, and will be used more in the program as she gains more experience in the future.
|
Canela 2006 Thoroughbred Mare
Canela is Trish's first horse and can be a little forward and spicy so is used for the intermediate students. She loves to jump and will never refuse a fence. Great to take to shows and will always take care of her rider.

Hope and Promise are purebred Fjord half sisters. We bought them as weanlings and were supposed to only pick one, but we brought home two... they were just too cute, baby picture for justice of our actions -------------->>>>
They are very hard to tell apart so for the kids catching them there is hairless Hope, we cut her mane super short and with cool patterns. Meanwhile her sister is plentiful Promise as in she has a lots and lots of thick long mane. Both are broke to ride and like to jump, but are also learning to pull a cart as well. Our vision in the future is to make them a driving team. Both are still quite young but doing well. They are becoming a part of our lesson program and a favorite to take on trail rides as they are so smooth. |
Willow 2012 Buckskin Pony Mare
Willow was purchased by us spring of 2022 from a previous client. We spent some time putting some miles on her and she did some of the summer camps and was progressing with learning how to jump quite nicely. She can be a little lazy at times but is a sweet mare and with time will probably do great with beginners. She is 13.1hh so just the right size for small adults and teenagers to keep riding her.
|
Cookie 2012 Pinto Pony Mare
Cookie was purchased spring of 2022 from the same place as Willow. She spent the spring getting a pony tune up and is coming along very nicely. She is 12.3hh so on the shorter side when it comes to ponies but is super athletic, has an adorable jump and for the intermediate kids is proving to be a blast to ride. She will continue her training to become a well rounded lesson pony and safe for all kids in a few years time.
|
Surprise 2006 Pony Mule
Surprise is a fan favorite around here; Iris picked him up from a horse auction as a 2 year old. He used to have a ton of black spots but has turned grey over the years. He has gone to many horse shows, battle of the breeds, polocrosse events and he loves to jump. He is pretty easy going and does do some beginner lessons, but does like to check and see if the kids are actually steering him every once and a while

Zurich 2001 Warmblood Mare
Zurich has been used on and off in our lesson program for a few years now, she is a powerful mare with a huge stride and does like to jump. She has also been a broodmare for our Warmblood breeding program. Her foals include Lorenzo by Lampion, Athena(Classical Touch) by Cree. She has been hard to get back in foal but by the chance of a short miracle she is currently expecting a late foal in August 2023 from our stallion Rio so will not be ridden this season.
|
Teddy 2003 Warmblood Gelding
Iris picked up Teddy many years ago as a rehab project gelding, after a couple years of field rest he came back completely sound. Teddy has taught a lot of kids the ropes over the years. He is a gentle giant and loves to cuddle, but he is a strong powerful horse with a lofty jump. Teddy has shown in the past up to 1m making even those jumps look small, and has even cleared 4.9ft in a three bar challenge! He is starting to slow down as he is getting older and only does lower jumpers now, but is an honest point and shoot horse that will take care of his rider.
|
Santiago 2002 Warmblood Gelding
Santiago was born and raised here at New Horizon Ranch. He is by our old stallion Crimelord, and his dam was Savannah. He is 16'3 hands high. Santiago has a lot of show experience under his belt, and has a comprehensive amount of dressage training and doing jumpers over the years. He is now in his 20's and only doing low jumpers and mostly dressage lessons. He still is quite forward to ride and his size and power is a little to much for small kids.
|
Sven 2009 Fjord Cross Gelding
Sven is a Fjord cross gelding with 1/4 Percheron and 1/4 Quarter horse on the other side. He is literally an oversized Fjord standing at 15.2hh. He is great on the flat, has done some jumping in the past but is better for the flat. He goes on many trail rides, and mountain trips and will be a part of our therapeutic programs. His Canter can be a little quick but his walk and trot are as smooth as butter.
|
Zoe 2004 Warmblood Mare
Zoe came from the same farm as Teddy years ago. We have used her on and off as a lesson horse over the years, and she was used as a broodmare for the previous owner. Zoe is quite safe under saddle, goes easily, enjoys doing small jumps, and trail rides. Her canter is a little different and she prefers to walk and trot more then canter.
|
Tez 2011 Thoroughbred Gelding
Tez is an off the track thoroughbred who has a successful racing career. He has since done some jumping and was leased by one of our intermediate student for a couple years. He will be added into lessons this season.
|
Flame 1999 Quarterhorse Mare
Flame is a new addition to our program that we bought in 2022 she is a safe all around horse that we will be using for our learn to ride and therapeutic programs.
|
Panda 2003 Paint Gelding
Panda was our old paint stallion, that has now been gelded. He has a great temperament, and has decided he loves to jump. He started doing lessons last year and did great. We only had a couple foals off of him, and figured he would enjoy life as a riding gelding living in the herd more then the stallion life. He has adjusted to being a gelding even as a older horse very easily and is quite happy.
|
Tom 2002 Quarter Horse Gelding
Tom was just recently purchased to use for lessons. He is an old rope horse who did some showing in the States and Canada in his younger years, and has been the safe old horse for grand kids to ride at his old home. He has a great western background including neck reining and we are excited to include him in our program this year

Gracie 1997 Halflinger Mare
Gracie was an Auction Rescue we bought in the fall of 2021, she was super skinny when she came into our care and as we started to get some weight on her we noticed she had quite the belly. After a quite visit to the vet our suspicions were confirmed that through all of that she was in foal. In 2022 she gave birth to a cute little filly we named Clover pictured with her. We had no background knowledge on her, but through an encounter with another client we learned that she came from his old neighbor's farm and he knew exactly who she was. She was papered which confirmed her age for us, and we learned she is a well broke driving horse that was used in a team of 6 Haflingers, did a bit of riding, and had quite a few foals over the years. She is a very sweet girl, loves people and with her age is retired from breeding but will be doing some of our therapeutic programs, lead line with younger kids, and some slower driving fun around the yard.
